Where do I begin.....
This week has been incredible. We stayed at CLF, which is Christian Light Foundation. A missionary that we know, Judy Russell, through FBC allowed us to come and do ministry with the staff. Everyday mom and I worked seperately so I didn't see her until night. CLF has a children's ministry where staff are assigned to different groups of mothers with malnourished children in various areas around Manila. I taught nutrition twice a day, a morning session and an afternoon session, averaging 20 mothers along with their children at each session. After each session I was able to share the gospel with them. A total of 80 decisions were made! PTL!
One of the days I would like to share is about Thursday. Throughout the week I was talking with my mom and saying how I wish there was more to give instead of just lecturing because some of the children look like the ones on t.v. where they haven't eaten in days. It was beyond heartbreaking and frustrating. We decided to buy enough fruit for each of the sessions. Thursday morning Bern, who is one of the staff at CLF, went with me to get fruit at a local stand. We decided to buy three different kinds of fruits so everyone could have one of each kind. As we got to selecting the third fruit, a gentleman stopped by on his motorcycle and asked why we were buying so much fruit. We told him it was for the mothers and their children that we were going to see. He was so moved and compelled to what we were doing that he told us he wanted to buy the last fruit and gave us 500 pesos. It was such a huge blessing! ( Today, Friday, we went back to the same fruit stand and Bern and I were able to share the gospel with the owner, who received Christ.)

Joe- the owner of the fruit stand who made a decision.
Rico- the gentleman who donated money to buy the fruit
Bern- CLF staff
Afterwards we went to the first group of mothers, where we met under a tree. I noticed right away that there was a gentleman off to the side who had sat down and he seemed interested in what we were doing. I didn't pay much attention to him;however, in the back of my mind I was hoping he would hear the gospel. 15 mothers made a decision and before we could finish, the gentleman got up in front of us all and shared something in their language. He then looked at me and said - I just got in an argument with my wife so I decided to go for a walk to release some of my anger. He continued to say that he was looking for someone to fight him to release his anger but instead he said - I was intrigued in what you were doing and decided to stay and listen and accepted Jesus as my Saviour. He was so excited about his decision and what we were doing that he helped us deliver milk and vitamins to the Muslims that were not able to attend the class.

This is Bern and Beach, the gentleman who became a believer, handing out milk and vitamins to the Muslims.
Tomorrow we will be going down to the BTEA orphanage for one week and doing ministry there. continue to pray =)
